1. How to destroy a tire in 20 seconds.

Recently, I had to replace my rear swing arm, because of a busted

drive shaft. Well, I learned one very important lesson when replacing

the swing arm. Make sure you adjust the forward sprocket or the chain

will destroy your tire. Incorrect adjustment allows the chain to drag, which

can grind the tire up quickly.

2. Adjusting the chain tension.

On the end of the swing arm is a small screw which is used to adjust

the chain tension. It is recommended that you use removable lock

tight on this screw! Otherwise, as you run the bike it will slowly

back itself out, which will change the tension on the chain. Use the

removable “only” lock tight, because you may need to adjust the chain

later on.

3. Do not over tight'en the wheels screws!

It is very important that you do not over tighten the front and rear

wheel screws. The wheels both contain bearings and if over tightened

will damage them and eventually cause them to grab. In some extreme

cases they will completely freeze up. Most of the bearings are self

contained and pre-lubricated. The wheel should spin freely, but tight

enough so they don’t wobble.

4. How & Where to mount the receiver

Location of the receiver is very important and it should be selected

carefully, so it will not get damaged if you happen to crash.

Also, make sure that you use double sided sticky tape to keep it firmly

mounted. The best location for the receiver on the SF501 is near the

exhaust on the inside frame rail. Then, to keep the wires in

place use zip-ties, which will keep everything nice and neat.

The 506 has its own reciever mounting location, still use tape!

5. Foam Inserts - More benefits and more control

Don’t forget the foam inserts when installing your new tires!

The foam inserts add additional support for the wheels and keeps

the tires from changing shape under power. Also, the additional

weight from the foam seems to help with control. Using the foam

inserts really does offer more benefits then running without them.

A new tire insert has just been released, which is a direct   *NEW INSERTS*

replacement for current foam inserts. This new insert is a

type of pre-molded foam, which fits the tire that much

better and it is more contoured for the wheel.

6. How to attach the Stock Ducati Rider onto the SF501 Nitro

The Stock Lexan Rider is ok, but if you cannot paint then you

might consider using the Pre-made TT rider. The rider is

a little on the heavy side, but looks fantastic on the NF nitro.

To attach the rider onto the bike, place zip ties on his legs

around both, left and right hand side of the rear frame. The

rider will not move and with the zip ties in place his arms can

remain free. The extra weight seems to make the bike very

stable, plus with his legs attached higher up on the frame you

will get increased lean angles.

You can purchase the rider at E-Hobbies.

7. Preventing front brake cable damage

It has come to my attention that the front brake cable can be easily

damaged if pulled between the front tire and fork tube. You can remedy

this situation by placing a small zip tie around the fork & cable,

which will stop the tire from grabbing the cable. Make sure the

cable can move freely and is not being pinched. This easy tip can

save you allot of money, because you can see the damaged cable

below.
